Hosting my FIRST-EVER Card Class!

It's very scary for me. What if I'm not good at teaching others? What if no one wants to attend? What if the world comes to an end the day before my class? Oh, forget that one, it won't happen.
Even though I can make beautiful cards for myself, how do I know for sure it will translate easily into teaching others how to make cards. The only way to be sure is to JUST DO IT!

Please join me on Sunday, October 25th at 2:00 pm to create some lovely, all purpose cards with the Watercolor Wishes kit by Stampin' Up. Below is a picture of the cards you will make. There are sentiments for birthday, congratulations, celebrations, hello and more.

I can accommodate five people only (that's scary enough for my first time) and each attendee will go home with four hand-made, BY YOU, cards to send to family and friends. All materials will be provided and the cost for this class is $25.00.

Please send me an email to barbk2012@icloud.com if you wish to attend, or, if you already have my phone number, please feel free to call me.

I hope we can make some beautiful cards together.

Happy Thanksgiving

I recently became a member of Live Love Cards. The cost is only $2.50 US per month, but Darlene Devries creates beautiful hand-made cards that are clean and simple and she has how-to videos so that you can follow the process. Truly beautiful cards!

Here is one that I saw in a post from December 2014 and I just had to make it myself.

For this card I used white card stock for the base, some gorgeous woodgrain cardstock from Simon Says Stamps, a die-cut from My Favorite Things and some coarse crystal by Martha Stewart. The ribbon was from my stash. It has taken me longer to type this post than it took to make the card!!

Great fun yesterday

What a great way to spend a Saturday, doing something that is creative and doing it with people from all over the world! I made three cards yesterday from the challenges at Scrapbook and Cards Today. Here are some of my creations.

Challenge #1 - Round Robin

Just so you know, my paper stash is old enough that I can't remember what their colour names are or who manufactured them. It could be Stampin' Up, Papertrey Ink, or Gina K. Designs, I don't know. That being said, I did use SU Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Lawn Fawn Die for 'happy birthday to you" and flowers by Maya Road.

Challenge #2 - Colour Suite

I chose the Aug 2014 colour suite by Lisa Dickenson.

The little lady is from the Stampin' Up set, We're In This Together. There are two other images in the set, but the shopping gal reminds me of all the young women in my life: daughters Tiffany & Kirsten, daughters-in-law Sheena and Louise; shopaholics all!

I coloured the image with my Copic markers. Love those darn markers.

Challenge #3 - Sketch Challenge

I chose sketch #3 by Michele Boyer.

For this card I use the Traveller stamp set by Stampin' Up. The quote I found at Quote Garden and just love it. The blue water is created using Vertigo product. I first heard about it at Live Love Cards. I can see a little more practice is required. The lower, reflection image was stamped on vellum paper, then turned upside down to create. Again, more practice will be required to perfect.

There are two more challenges to go and October 9th is the deadline. I'm going to do my best.

Welcome!

Today is World Card Making Day and it seems only fitting that, as I return to creating my own cards, they should be celebrated with a new blog. On WCMD, this blog was born.
Please feel free to look around and, perhaps, join in with me in creating cards for family and friends. It's lots of fun!
